Give words a voice.
Right in your browser.
Read selected text, create a voice, and compose spoken audio in the Chrome side panel.
Chrome Web Store release is being prepared. A public installation link will appear here after approval.
Read
Select a passage and choose “Read selection with UYDI”, or paste your own text. Choose a language and voice, generate speech, then listen or download.
Design
Describe the voice you have in mind. Create a custom voice, preview it, and use it for your next narration.
Clone
Upload a 10–60 second WAV, MP3 or M4A recording of your own adult voice or an adult voice you are authorized to use. Explicit voice-rights confirmations are required.
Voice Canvas
Build a script from ordered segments, choose a voice and language for each, set pauses, save projects to UYDI, and render a downloadable WAV.
Connect your account
The extension is free to install. A UYDI account, a personal access token, available account credits, and an internet connection are required to generate audio. Voice and Canvas limits depend on your UYDI plan. See current pricing.
- Open UYDI developer settings and create a personal access token.
- Enable Account & credits, Read voices, Manage voices, Read generations, Generate speech, Read Voice Canvas, and Manage Voice Canvas.
- Paste the token into the extension and choose Connect account. Keep tokens private; do not send them to support.
What the extension reads
The extension reads selected text only when you choose its context-menu command or press Get selection. You can edit the text before sending it for synthesis. It does not automatically extract whole pages or collect your browsing history. Read the extension privacy policy for local storage, uploads, and service processing.
Support and limits
Requires Chrome 116 or newer. The interface is in English. Protected Chrome pages and some embedded documents restrict selection access; paste text instead. Cloning uses file upload; microphone recording is not included. Keep the panel open for playback. Save Canvas edits before closing the browser or disconnecting.
For account, access-token, audio, or extension questions, contact support@uydi.com or consult the UYDI guide.
